Apple is gearing up for the official launch of its much-anticipated iPhone 17 series on September 9. This year, the tech giant is expected to introduce a brand-new model—the iPhone 17 Air, a slimmer alternative that could replace the current Plus variant. With leaks and rumors buzzing online, comparisons between the iPhone 17 Air and iPhone 17 Pro are already heating up. Here’s a breakdown of how the two models stack up.
Price in India
Reports suggest the iPhone 17 Air will debut at around ₹1,00,000 for the 256GB base variant. Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Pro may see a price bump, starting at ₹1,25,000 for the same storage capacity. Official pricing will be confirmed on launch day.
Design and Display
The iPhone 17 Air is expected to stand out with its ultra-slim 5.5mm frame, a titanium build, and a single rear camera in the top-left corner. It will also feature Apple’s Action Button and Camera Control Button, but may drop the physical SIM slot entirely.
The iPhone 17 Pro, in contrast, could bring back an aluminium frame with a glass body, along with a wider camera bar housing three rear lenses. The Pro model will likely be bulkier and heavier than before.
When it comes to display, the iPhone 17 Air may feature a 6.6-inch LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the iPhone 17 Pro could sport a slightly smaller 6.3-inch LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED with ProMotion technology and enhanced brightness.
Performance and Battery
Both devices are expected to run on Apple’s upcoming A19 Pro chip, paired with 12GB RAM, ensuring top-tier performance and seamless integration of Apple Intelligence features.
Battery capacity, however, will differ: the iPhone 17 Air is tipped to house a 2900mAh battery, while the iPhone 17 Pro could pack a larger 3700mAh unit. Both may support faster charging.
Camera
The iPhone 17 Air will reportedly feature a single 48MP rear camera, limiting options like ultrawide and telephoto shots, similar to the iPhone 16e.
The iPhone 17 Pro, on the other hand, is expected to boast a triple 48MP camera system, including a new 48MP telephoto lens. On the front, both models may share a 24MP selfie camera.
👉 With Apple set to unveil the iPhone 17 lineup in just days, the Air and Pro models are shaping up to target very different audiences—one with a sleek, minimalist design, and the other with cutting-edge Pro features.
