Mahindra & Mahindra is getting ready for a product blitz in the SUV segment. Over the next 12 to 24 months, the homegrown automaker will roll out eight premium SUVs that include facelifts, all-electric models, and rugged off-roaders. With prototypes of several upcoming vehicles already being tested on Indian roads, excitement is building for what’s next.

Here’s a detailed look at all the new Mahindra SUVs in the pipeline.

2026 Mahindra XUV700 Facelift

Mahindra is actively testing the facelifted XUV700, which is expected to make its debut in early 2026. Spy shots reveal subtle design updates, including revised bumpers, redesigned headlamps and taillamps, and new alloy wheels. The signature flush door handles will remain unchanged.

At the rear, the SUV is expected to sport minor styling tweaks along with new color options. Inside, Mahindra is preparing a premium upgrade with fresh upholstery, updated trims, and a refined cabin theme.

The biggest highlight will be the revamped dashboard featuring a triple-screen layout. This setup will integrate a large central touchscreen, a digital driver’s display, and a dedicated passenger-side screen, giving the cabin a futuristic appeal.

Mechanically, no major changes are expected. The XUV700 will continue with its 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines, paired with six-speed manual and six-speed automatic gearboxes.

Mahindra XUV.e8 – The Electric XUV700

Mahindra’s XUV.e8, the electric derivative of the XUV700, is already in advanced testing stages. Likely to debut in 2026, the three-row SUV will closely resemble its ICE counterpart in terms of size and stance but feature EV-specific styling cues. Expect a closed-off grille, unique LED lighting, and futuristic design touches.

Inside, the XUV.e8 will share several features with Mahindra’s upcoming Born Electric (BE) lineup, ensuring it feels modern and tech-heavy.

Mahindra BE Rall-E – Adventure-Ready Electric SUV

Another exciting product is the Mahindra BE Rall-E, a tough, off-road-focused SUV based on the BE 6. Prototypes of the production-ready model have already been spotted in India.

The Rall-E will emphasize rugged styling, higher ground clearance, and enhanced off-road capabilities, making it an appealing option for adventure seekers. It will likely use the same battery packs as the BE 6, but tuned for more robust performance.

Electric Mahindra Thar

The iconic Mahindra Thar is set to embrace electrification. The five-door electric Thar has already been showcased in concept form and will become a reality within the next few years.

This zero-emission version of the Thar will retain its rugged appeal but come with EV-specific styling and technology upgrades. With growing interest in lifestyle EVs, the Thar EV could be one of Mahindra’s most talked-about launches.

Scorpio EV In The Works

Alongside the Thar EV, Mahindra is also exploring a Scorpio EV. While still under wraps, reports suggest development is underway. If launched, it would combine the robustness of the Scorpio brand with eco-friendly electric power, targeting customers who want a large family SUV without emissions.

NU_IQ Platform & Future Premium SUVs

Looking further ahead, Mahindra’s NU_IQ platform is expected to go into production by 2027. This advanced architecture will underpin several premium SUVs in the company’s portfolio, designed to meet global standards while catering to Indian buyers.

Facelifted Mahindra Thar (ICE Version)

While electric versions grab headlines, Mahindra hasn’t forgotten its traditional buyers. A facelifted three-door Thar (ICE) is already under development. Expect cosmetic tweaks, updated features, and possibly new color schemes, while retaining its rugged, go-anywhere character.

Hybrid Possibilities

Although not officially confirmed, Mahindra is reportedly exploring hybrid powertrains for future SUVs like the XEV 9e and BE 6. If introduced, these models could bridge the gap between traditional ICE vehicles and pure EVs, offering buyers more flexibility.

Final Verdict

Mahindra’s upcoming SUV lineup shows how seriously the brand is pushing into the premium and electric space. From the facelifted XUV700 and all-electric XUV.e8 to the adventure-ready BE Rall-E and lifestyle EVs like the Thar, the company is covering every niche in the SUV market.

With eight premium SUVs lined up within the next two years, Mahindra is positioning itself to compete not just with domestic rivals like Tata Motors but also with global players entering India’s EV and SUV space.

For customers, this means more choices, more advanced features, and a glimpse into the future of Indian SUVs.
