As Shah Rukh Khan’s first look from ‘King’ breaks the internet, fans accuse the makers of copying Brad Pitt’s style from ‘F1’. Here’s how director Siddharth Anand responded.

The first look of Shah Rukh Khan’s much-awaited film King, unveiled on his 60th birthday, has sparked a major debate online. While fans flooded social media with excitement, a section of users quickly noticed something else — SRK’s outfit in the poster looks strikingly similar to Brad Pitt’s look from his upcoming film F1.

Photos comparing the two stars — both dressed in a blue shirt and tan jacket — have gone viral, igniting a fierce discussion about whether Bollywood had once again borrowed too heavily from Hollywood.

While some social media users brushed off the similarities as “harmless inspiration,” others accused the makers of copying Brad Pitt’s look, turning the conversation into a trending controversy.

Siddharth Anand’s Response

Amid the growing chatter, King director Siddharth Anand took notice of a viral tweet mocking the tendency to label every Bollywood film as a “copy.”

The tweet read:

“Funny logic by haters these days. If Bollywood movie has: Fighter Jet – Copy of Top Gun, Ship – Copy of Titanic, Same dress code – Copy of F1, Orange Dress – Anti-Hindu. Their IQ level is like buffering since 1947.”

The post included a collage featuring Shah Rukh Khan in a similar outfit from Jab Harry Met Sejal (2017), Brad Pitt from F1 (2025), and the now-famous still from King.

Anand’s reaction was short but telling — he responded with multiple laughing emojis and the “OK” hand sign, seemingly agreeing with the sarcastic take and dismissing the comparisons as overblown.

Shah Rukh Khan on His Character in King

At a recent birthday fan meet, Shah Rukh Khan himself spoke about his role, describing it as one of the most complex and unconventional characters he has played.

“I just feel that if we don’t do something interesting in films, it becomes predictable — hero aayega, gaana gaayega, fight karega, chala jaayega,” SRK said.
King’s character is very intriguing. Siddharth and Sujoy have written it with a lot of love. He has many dark shades — he’s a killer, someone who doesn’t even ask ‘how many were there?’ before pulling the trigger.”

The superstar added that it’s crucial for actors like him to experiment with varied roles — be it inspiring, comic, romantic, or even flawed — to keep storytelling fresh for audiences.

With King marking SRK’s return to a gritty, action-driven role under Siddharth Anand’s direction, fans are eagerly awaiting the film’s release — and perhaps, the end of the F1 comparison saga.
