Yamaha Sales Report September 2025

Yamaha Motor India has wrapped up September 2025 on a strong note, recording healthy year-on-year (YoY) and month-on-month (MoM) growth. The festive demand and positive economic sentiment gave the two-wheeler segment a boost across the board, and Yamaha was no exception.

With total sales of 73,307 units, the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer achieved a 9.9% YoY growth compared to 66,705 units sold in September 2024. On a MoM basis, sales jumped 21.34%, up from 60,413 units in August 2025.

Yamaha RayZR Continues to Lead the Pack

The Yamaha RayZR maintained its position as the company’s top-selling model, driving a major share of overall sales.

In September 2025, the RayZR posted 27,280 units, marking a massive 64.91% YoY growth compared to 16,542 units in September 2024. This also represents a volume gain of 10,738 units.

The RayZR accounted for 37.21% of Yamaha’s total monthly sales, reinforcing its popularity in the 125cc scooter segment.

Month-on-month, RayZR’s sales also rose 31.97%, up from 20,671 units in August 2025 — showcasing strong festive season demand.

FZ Series Maintains Strong Momentum

In second place, the Yamaha FZ series continued to deliver solid performance. Sales for the month stood at 16,137 units, marking an 18.51% YoY growth from 13,618 units in the same period last year.

The FZ also grew 12.66% MoM, up from 14,321 units in August 2025. With a 22.01% market share, the FZ remains one of Yamaha’s strongest products in the commuter-premium motorcycle category.

MT-15 Sees Slight Dip YoY, But Recovers MoM

The Yamaha MT-15 experienced a minor setback in year-on-year performance, with sales declining 4.81% to 11,695 units, compared to 12,286 units in September 2024.

However, the streetfighter motorcycle bounced back on a month-on-month basis, showing a 10.20% rise from 10,613 units in August 2025.

This suggests renewed interest among buyers, likely fueled by festive promotions and finance offers in select cities.

R15 and Fascino See Mixed Trends

The Yamaha R15, one of India’s most loved 150cc sportbikes, registered sales of 9,329 units in September 2025. Though this marks a YoY decline, the model posted a 23.91% MoM growth, reflecting improved dealer-level movement during the festive season.

The Yamaha Fascino scooter sold 5,955 units, also seeing a drop in year-on-year performance but improving 22.81% MoM compared to August’s figures.

Yamaha’s scooter lineup (RayZR and Fascino) together continues to perform well, appealing to both young and family buyers with modern styling and fuel-efficient engines.

Aerox 155 Records Strong Growth

Yamaha’s sporty scooter, the Aerox 155, continues to gain traction in the Indian market. It posted 2,901 units in September 2025, marking a 35.43% YoY growth over 2,143 units sold in the same month last year.

Month-on-month, Aerox sales were also up 19.68%, compared to 2,424 units in August 2025. The Aerox’s performance is noteworthy, given its niche positioning as a premium performance scooter.

It now plays an important role in strengthening Yamaha’s foothold in the premium scooter space.

R3 and MT-03 Show Slow Recovery

The Yamaha R3/MT-03 duo registered 10 units in September 2025 — a 23.08% YoY decline, but a 150% MoM jump from just 4 units sold in August 2025.

While these numbers remain modest, the models serve as brand halo products, highlighting Yamaha’s capability in the premium motorcycle segment. The company is expected to strengthen this category in the coming quarters with new introductions.

Yamaha Q3 2025 Performance: Stable Growth

Across the third quarter of 2025, Yamaha achieved total sales of 1,84,085 units, marking a 0.72% YoY growth compared to 1,82,774 units in Q3 2024 — a volume gain of 1,311 units.

  • Aerox 155: 7,564 units (↑ 32.98%)

While the RayZR and Aerox emerged as top growth drivers, the Fascino and R15 saw declines due to increased competition and changing consumer demand in the 110–125cc segment.

Upcoming Launch: Yamaha XSR155 Set for November 2025 Debut

Yamaha’s next big move in India is the launch of the XSR155, a neo-retro motorcycle that has been spotted testing on Indian roads several times. The company has officially scheduled a launch event for November 11, 2025, fueling excitement among enthusiasts.

The Yamaha XSR155 is based on the popular R15 platform and combines classic retro design with modern technology. It’s expected to feature the same 155cc liquid-cooled engine seen on the R15 and MT-15, delivering around 18.4 PS of power and 14.2 Nm of torque.

Positioned as a lifestyle motorcycle, the XSR155 will target riders who want performance with timeless design. Once launched, it’s expected to give a significant boost to Yamaha’s sales in the 150cc–160cc premium segment, competing directly with the Bajaj Pulsar N160, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, and Hero Xtreme 160R 4V.

Final Outlook: Festive Momentum and New Launches to Drive Growth

Yamaha Motor India’s consistent performance through September and Q3 2025 signals strong consumer confidence in the brand. With double-digit growth in key products like RayZR, FZ, and Aerox, Yamaha’s strategy of focusing on premium motorcycles and scooters seems to be paying off.
