Tata Motors is all set to bring back one of its most iconic SUVs — the Tata Sierra — in an all-new avatar. The company is expected to launch the new Tata Sierra 2025 in November, with major upgrades in design, technology, and performance.
Spy shots and dealer previews have already revealed that the upcoming Sierra is almost production-ready, and it’s set to become one of Tata’s most advanced SUVs yet.
Bold Neo-Retro Design
The new Tata Sierra 2025 blends the charm of the original Sierra with Tata’s latest design philosophy. The SUV carries the signature body profile, wide B-pillar, and distinct window design that nods to its legacy — now combined with a modern monocoque structure and a 5-door layout.
The front features sharp LED DRLs, a full-width LED light strip, and bold SIERRA lettering on the tailgate. The muscular bumpers, flush door handles, and large alloy wheels give it a strong, modern stance.
At the back, the SUV sports sleek taillights, a layered bumper design, and a new badge layout. The showcased model was seen in a striking Deep Yellow shade, with multiple color options expected at launch.
Premium Interior and Tech-Loaded Cabin
Inside, the Sierra aims to set new benchmarks in comfort and technology. The cabin features a triple-screen layout, similar to what we’ve seen in the Mahindra XUV 9e, expected in the top variant.
Other premium features include a four-spoke illuminated steering wheel, ventilated and power-adjustable front seats, panoramic sunroof, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, and ambient lighting.
Tata will also offer OTA (Over-the-Air) updates, ensuring the SUV stays up to date with the latest software enhancements.
Safety and Driver Assistance
Safety is a major focus for the new Sierra. It is expected to earn a 5-star Global NCAP rating and come with Level-2 ADAS features.
Standard safety equipment will include six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill-hold assist, descent control, and a 360-degree camera.
Powertrain Options
The new Tata Sierra will be offered in petrol, diesel, and electric versions:
- Petrol Variant: A 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 170 PS and 280 Nm, available with manual and automatic gearbox options.
- Diesel Variant: A 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine from the Harrier, delivering 170 PS and 350 Nm, paired with 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmissions.
- Electric Variant: Tata is also expected to launch an EV version, likely using the Harrier EV’s powertrain technology, offering impressive range and instant torque.
The top variant will also feature an AWD (All-Wheel Drive) option for better traction and off-road capability.
