The upcoming OnePlus 15 is already generating buzz ahead of its official launch in China this October, followed by a global release in early 2026. Thanks to a new Geekbench listing, we now have a clearer picture of what kind of performance leap the next-generation flagship is bringing to the table. Spoiler alert: it’s shaping up to be one of the most powerful Android devices of the year.

Geekbench Scores Show Big Jump in Power

The OnePlus 15 surfaced on Geekbench under the model number PLK110, believed to be the Chinese variant of the phone. It comes equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with 16GB of RAM and running Android 16.

In the latest benchmark results, the device scored an impressive 3,709 points in single-core and 11,000 points in multi-core tests.

For comparison, last year’s OnePlus 13, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, managed 2,967 in single-core and 8,807 in multi-core. That represents a performance jump of around 25%, a major upgrade in processing power.

Interestingly, an earlier Geekbench test for the same device had returned lower numbers—639 (single-core) and 1,871 (multi-core)—due to an underclocked CPU. The new scores confirm that the OnePlus 15 is indeed running at full potential.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 – Qualcomm’s New Powerhouse

The performance gains are largely thanks to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which will be officially detailed at the Snapdragon Summit on September 23.

This chipset represents the next step in Qualcomm’s flagship silicon, offering better CPU and GPU performance, AI-driven efficiency, and likely improved thermals. The early numbers already suggest it could redefine performance benchmarks for Android smartphones heading into 2026.

Adding context, the Xiaomi 17 series has also been spotted on Geekbench with the same chipset, posting scores similar to the OnePlus 15—3,705 single-core and 11,228 multi-core. This indicates consistent performance across brands using Qualcomm’s new flagship SoC.

A New Display Strategy

Beyond raw power, OnePlus is said to be introducing a new BOE X3 Oriental display on the OnePlus 15. Unlike the OnePlus 13, which had a massive 6.82-inch panel with 2K resolution, the OnePlus 15’s screen is rumored to be slightly smaller and with a lower resolution, but making up for it with a 165Hz refresh rate.

This move may be aimed at balancing performance with efficiency, giving gamers and power users smoother visuals while also optimizing battery usage.

Battery Gets a Huge Boost

Battery life is often the deciding factor for heavy smartphone users, and OnePlus seems to have listened. The OnePlus 15 is expected to pack a massive 7,000mAh battery, a full 1,000mAh larger than the 6,000mAh unit on the OnePlus 13.

Charging speeds are also getting an upgrade with support for 120W fast charging, compared to the 100W standard on its predecessor. If these claims hold true, the OnePlus 15 could become one of the longest-lasting flagships on the market while still charging to full in under 30 minutes.

Camera and Design Changes

On the camera front, OnePlus is shifting gears. The Hasselblad partnership that once gave its flagships unique camera branding is now gone. Instead, the company will rely on its in-house DetailMax Engine for image processing.

Design-wise, leaks suggest the OnePlus 15 will move away from the circular camera housing that defined earlier models. Instead, it is expected to adopt a square camera bump, a design direction first hinted at with the OnePlus 13s earlier this year.

While this may upset long-time fans who appreciated the brand’s distinct styling, OnePlus appears set on aligning with more mainstream aesthetics, even if it risks comparisons to competitors like Apple and Samsung.

Expected Launch and Global Rollout

The OnePlus 15 is expected to launch in China in October 2025. The global release should follow in early 2026, similar to the rollout pattern of previous models.

Pricing is not confirmed yet, but with these upgrades, the OnePlus 15 will likely be positioned in the ultra-premium flagship range, possibly starting around $899–$999 globally (₹75,000–₹85,000 in India).

Final Verdict

The OnePlus 15 looks like it will deliver a significant step up in performance compared to the OnePlus 13, thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Add to that a 7,000mAh battery, 120W charging, and a 165Hz display, and you have a device built for power-hungry users who demand the absolute best.

The only lingering question is whether its design shift and dropped Hasselblad partnership will alienate loyalists. Still, if the performance gains and battery endurance live up to the hype, the OnePlus 15 could easily become one of the top Android flagships of 2026.
