Oppo Expands A6 Lineup

Oppo has introduced two new smartphones under its A6 series – the A6 Pro 4G and the A6 Pro 5G. While the A6 Pro 4G is already listed in Vietnam, the A6 Pro 5G was launched in China earlier this month and is expected to debut globally, including in India, in the coming weeks.

The two phones differ mainly in terms of processor and network support, but both feature large batteries, fast charging, and premium displays.

Oppo A6 Pro 5G: Specifications

The Oppo A6 Pro 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset and will be offered in three storage variants – 6GB RAM with 128GB storage, 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage.

The device weighs 185 grams and has a thickness of 8mm. It also supports expandable storage via card slot along with USB OTG.

On the front, it features a 6.57-inch FHD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, 10-bit colour depth, and a peak brightness of 1,400 nits.

Oppo A6 Pro 5G: Cameras and Battery

The smartphone houses a 50MP wide-angle primary camera paired with a 2MP monochrome sensor on the rear. For selfies, there is a 16MP front camera.

It supports multiple photography modes, including Night mode, Panorama, Slow Motion, Dual-View Video, and Underwater mode. Both the front and rear cameras support 1080p and 720p video recording at 30fps or 60fps.

A major highlight is its 7,000mAh battery, paired with 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging. The phone also supports lower-wattage charging standards, making it versatile across regions.

Security features include an in-display fingerprint scanner and face unlock.

Connectivity options include dual SIM support, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, USB Type-C, and NFC (region-specific). The device runs on ColorOS 15.0.

Oppo A6 Pro 5G: Expected Price and Availability

While Oppo has not revealed the official pricing or launch date for the A6 Pro 5G outside China, the global rollout is expected soon. The device is likely to enter the Indian market in the mid-range segment.

Oppo A6 Pro 4G: Key Details

Alongside, Oppo has also unveiled the A6 Pro 4G, which succeeds the A5 4G. This version is powered by the MediaTek Helio G100 chipset, paired with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. A vapor chamber cooling system is included for thermal management.

It features a 6.57-inch OLED display with 1080p+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 1,400 nits peak brightness – a notable upgrade from the A5 4G’s 720p+ LCD panel.

The device packs the same 7,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging. Camera specifications include a 50MP primary sensor and 2MP depth sensor on the rear, along with a 16MP front camera. The rear camera supports 1080p video at 60fps, while the front camera records 1080p at 30fps.

Durability is a highlight, with the phone carrying IPX6, IPX8, and IPX9 water resistance ratings, IP6X dust resistance, and clearance of MIL-STD-810H military-grade tests.

Additional features include stereo speakers with “300% volume mode,” 360° NFC antenna, outdoor visibility mode, and Oppo’s file-sharing system similar to Apple’s AirDrop.

The Oppo A6 Pro 4G comes in the same four colour options, though Vietnam’s FPTShop lists only three. The phone is available in a single 8GB RAM + 256GB storage configuration, priced at VND 8,300,000 (around ₹28,000), though this may be a placeholder price.

Final Takeaway

With the Oppo A6 Pro 5G expected to launch globally soon, Oppo is strengthening its position in the mid-range smartphone market. The combination of a 7,000mAh battery, 80W fast charging, AMOLED display, and advanced safety certifications positions both the 4G and 5G models as competitive offerings.
